"FSI was simply amazing. I figured that, since it was at UNC, it would be easy and boring. BOY WAS I WRONG. It was one of the most intellectually stimulating, interesting, and rewarding experiences of my life. Everything, from our camping trip to South Dakota, to industrial visitations, to writing my paper with senior physics professor. Our research was real, interesting, and (above all) really interesting. Being with students who were my intellectual peers built great friendships that will last a lifetime. Everybody there, the staff, the students, were the kind of people that make you love science, love being smart, and love life. My time there was fantastic, and I would recommend it to anybody considering it."
"To me FSI was one of the best experiences I had ever had. It was fun, educational, and gave one a sense of growing up on their own. When I first went to FSI I was a little nervous and really wasn't sure if I was going to fit in. But, when I got there I realized that they were just normal kids who had a passion for science. Also while up at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) I got to work under a college professor who was working on a cure for a deadly virus found in Colorado, HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! And the cool thing is that if you are a instate student like I was the price was pretty reasonable, I mean 6 weeks with rooms, food, and having fun while learning at the same time.
While FSI is a fun camp it is also a science camp as a result I was expect to write papers and do a presentation of what I did and learned from my professor. And this was tough, but, because I was so enthused about what I was doing, writing was somewhat easy. And even though I had trouble with my grammar in writing my paper with the help of the other students and my peers writing wasn't too hard for me. "
