"Global Scholar was an absolutley amazing experience. I grew not only as a global citizen, I grew more mature, independent, and globally aware. I could not have asked for a better way to spend two weeks of my summer - I wish it could have been even longer! It was a lasting experience that shaped what I would like to do with the rest of my life. It opened my eyes and broadened my perspective in ways that a classroom could not. The speakers, the leaders, and the people I met there will stay with throughout my journey as a global citizen."

"This was by far the BEST summer program I went to! The speakers who come are very insightful and the counselors are very intelligent and fun at the same time!! The best part was the social environment as it was a fun yet intellectual group of peers so we had a ton of fun with debates over so many issues sprouting up everywhere we went. This program is the perfect mesh of fun events and a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend everyone!!"

"Global Scholars is a truly amazing program. I was one of three international participants in last year's program, and I enjoyed not only meeting and interacting with incredibly intelligent people from all over the United States and the world, but also participating in insightful conversations, discussions and debates with them. The AID staff in charge of the program are simply the most motivated, interesting and smart group of people you'll ever meet and give the participants an almost endless source of experience and knowledge, all the while encouraging everyone to contribute with their personal thoughts and opinions on every subject. The subjects are always interesting because of their broad implications on everyone's area of interest, and it is precisely the variety of interconnecting subjects that appeal to everyone, that manage to capture everyone's attention and makes both the lectures and the ensuing discussions extremely interesting and even fun. The mix of lectures, discussions, workshops, socializing and other activities make this program one you will want to get up early from bed for EVERY DAY (I certainly did). Every day is filled with new, interesting and exciting activities and there is never a boring moment. This is a program for everyone, but it should be of special interest to any person with an eye for social issues, history, economics or politics. In summary, the people who attend who attend Global Scholars, the people who organize Global Scholars, and the invited speakers are truly awesome. The site for the program (W&L University campus in Lexington) is extraordinary (and I'd dare mention that the food is absolutely heavenly). The activities that the program includes are absolutely riveting. The only thing you'll absolutely despise about it is it's duration. Even at two weeks long, it is still too short! You'll wish it were longer, you really will."

"Global Scholar is an extraordinary way to be introduced to the realm of international relations! Students hear many distinguished speakers from various fields throughout the program, and they develop a groundwork on many key issues occurring in the world today. Furthermore, the enthusiasm of the program directors really helps build an environment in which students learn at the highest rate possible. Finally, let it be known that Global Scholar lives up to its title! The participants are introduced to the art of being leaders on a global scale, and without a doubt, each of its past participants can safely say that they left the program with a feeling of purpose and determination."

"This is a great program! You'll learn so much and also make a lot of friends. Only drawback is that it's only two weeks, you'll want to stay longer."

"Global Scholar was a fantastic way to spend 2 weeks in the summer between my junior and senior years learning about a topic that I was immensely passionate about-international relations. I really learned a lot about international issues in depth and the camp counselors were exremely intelligent and helpful. There was also a good balance between coursework and social events. Our group participated in a global videoconference, listened to IR/policy experts in DC and had college lecturers come and talk to us every week. In addition, for fun, we went to the movies, went on nature hikes, explored the city and participated in a scavenger hunt. I made a lot of great friends there and learned a lot in a relaxed yet intellectual environment. I highly recommend this program to all interested high schoolers!!"

"I really enjoyed the program. There was a good balance of lectures and free time. The best part were the dozens of lectures from academics and policy wonks, an experience that few programs I've done, before or since, offered. "

"Great Experience! I was able to meet and talk to one on one to influential people in the field that I am now studying in in college. Also you get a chance to meet great people who are all interested in the same things that you are for the most part. It brings about a network of friends that you can communicate later on and if you are fortunate enough, like I was, you may even go to the same college as some of those people. Well prepared by the staff and mad props to Seth Green for his great connections and enthusasim."

"Attending Global Scholar was an incredible experience. The counselors truly lived up to their name by serving as a source of advice for college and role models in life. The students were from all corners of the US (and Canada) and came from all different backgrounds. Studying international relations with people who had such different perspectives added so much value to the learning experience. More than that, there was a good balance of work on one hand and fun and bonding on the other. We were given the opportunity to explore the college town - doing everything from scavenger hunts to nature hikes - and the trip to DC was well-worth the bus ride. Global Scholar opened my eyes to the possibilities of a career in international relations and really helped guide me in the direction I am now headed as a student in the School of International Studies at American University. Highly, highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about the ways in which nations and cultures interact and how it affects policy and events on an international scale."
