University of St Andrews Creative Writing Summer Program

Program Description:

Based in the historic & beautiful setting of the University of St Andrews. Designed to provide students who are about to enter college/university with an introduction to the writing, editing, and presentation of poetry and short fiction. Intensively workshop based and providing the opportunity to work in small groups with leading Scottish writers and experienced graduate tutors.

Qualifications: Students must have completed at least Grade 10 in a North American high school curriculum or its equivalent.

Program Dates / Length: Program suspended for 2009; will be offered in 2010

Housing: Single study bedroom with all meals provided in a centrally located hall of residence.

Cost / Availability of Financial Aid: £2600 (GBP) including tuition, all handouts and manuals, accommodation (single room, all meals), use of sports facilities, all excursions, social and cultural events & transport between St Andrews and either Edinburgh or Glasgow airport.

Credit Awarded: 15 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credit points at level 7 (1st year undergrad.)
